Meet Kathy

Kathy Greer is a Licensed Independent Social Worker . Kathy is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. This certification was obtained through the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals. Kathy has an extensive history of treatment addiction, including substance abuse, gambling, pornography, and sexual addictions. After completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a minor in Social Work from Simpson College, Kathy started her career at a community action agency and continued her career with nonprofits, specializing in domestic violence, sexual assault, and reproductive health. After completing her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa , Kathy transitioned her career to providing mental health therapy as well as medical social work, working as a Transplant Social Worker.

Kathy is the Executive Director as well as a mental health therapist at Greer Therapy Services, providing a full array of mental health services, including sexual addiction and betrayal trauma treatment for individuals and couples. Kathy has served as a board member for Crisis Intervention Services and the Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault. Kathy is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and is an approved LISW supervisor for the State of Iowa. Kathy identifies as a secular therapist.

In her free time, Kathy enjoys traveling, reading, boating, brunch, entertaining friends, and spending time with her family, which includes her husband, Russ; her three children, Dustin, Tyler, and Payton, along with their partners, her grandson, Kane along with another grandson arriving in September!
